Big Tiny Details

A wedding consists of 1 million tiny factors that may seem small but are actually pretty big things to consider.  These are details that will help your whole day run smoother and help make your wedding photos fabulous.  Read on for a list of a few big tiny details!

Cake Backdrop

Have you thought about where you will place your cake in your reception space?  Will there be drapery or a pretty wall behind the cake?  What about an exit sign?  Yep, important to think this through.

Sunset Timing

Are you envisioning a sunset ceremony or cocktail hour?  Even if you do not wish to incorporate the sunset into your timeline, do consider where the sun will be during your ceremony.  (Behind your guests is great so the sun will not be in their eyes!)  Make sure to account for daylight savings time.

Height of Centerpieces

If your venue has a high ceiling, consider designing tall centerpieces to fill the room’s height.

An Easy Room Flip

If you will need to flip your ceremony set-up to the reception set-up, it may be a good idea to make a plan for the flip to happen as quickly and easily as possible.  For example, have your guest tables pre-set and set up ceremony chairs where your dance floor will be.  Then move the ceremony chairs to the tables and your dance floor will magically open up!  Room.  Flipped.

Coolers and Ice

Make sure you know who is responsible for providing coolers and ice for the bar-you, your venue, your rental company, your caterer or your bar tenders.

Cake Cutting Tools

On my wedding day, I thought for sure I had packed the cake server.  Enough said.

A Fun Napkin Fold

There are so many ways to fold napkins!  Make sure to communicate with your caterer or planner about how exactly you want your napkins folded.

A Versatile Rain Plan for Ceremony Decor

At our venue, many couples plan to decorate our pergola with a garland, flower arrangements or draping.  In case it happens to rain on your wedding day, think about how you could still use the same ceremony décor in a backup area.

A Great Venue Photo

Your venue is one of your biggest wedding investments.  Make sure your photographer gets a great shot of it!
