So what exactly is audio/visual support?  Do you need it for your wedding?  Can you get by without it?  Consider this your audio/visual cheat sheet.  Read on to find answers to some FAQ’s.

1. Will my DJ cover everything AV related? Usually, yes.  Typically DJs can cover all wedding sound from the ceremony to the cocktail hour music to the reception.  This includes microphones, speakers and playing the music.  Ask your DJ to make sure!
2. What AV packages does Sycamore Farms offer? We have two AV packages.  Our first is for indoor AV support.  This package includes wireless handheld and lapel microphones, use of our house sound system for playing a pre-made playlist and use of our projector.  The second AV package includes everything mentioned in the indoor package plus a sound technician to run your ceremony sound and cocktail hour music.  This technician can use our portable sound system all the way out on our island or outdoor verandas.  This person will play your prelude music, cue all pre-recorded ceremony songs and run your cocktail hour playlist.
3. What if I have a band? If you hire a band for your reception, you will need to think about who will be running your ceremony music and cocktail hour music.  If the band is not able to do so, you may benefit from our second AV package or you could hire musicians and/or singers to play for your ceremony and cocktail hour.  Double check with the musicians/singers to see if they can provide their own sound equipment or if you may need to use ours.  If a band plays at your reception, we have lots of wall plugs on the wall under our projector so that is a great place for them to set up, either on a stage or on the regular floor.
4. Will the band or DJ use the Sycamore Farms house sound system? We encourage bands and DJs to use their own sound system.
5. Where are the outdoor outlets at Sycamore Farms? There are outlets around the perimeter of our verandas and around the perimeter of our main hall inside the barn.  We also have outlets just before you cross the bridge and behind our pergola on the island.  We even have an outlet out near our gigantic sycamore tree.
6. Can my dance floor be outside? We do have neighbors so we are not able to allow dance floors outside.  Background music for cocktail hour and ceremony music is fine outside.
7. How does my slideshow or video get onto the projector screen? Bring your prepared slideshow on a laptop (non-Mac preferred) with an HDMI cable.  A Sycamore Farms employee will help you set up the slideshow.
